Any Andrea Bocelli fans here? I work at Universal and my friend is assigned to his campaign. He gave me a copy of his new cd and its really good. Oh, I guess i should mention I am a fan. I wish i could have worked with him. What are your thoughts on him or Classical/Opera in gerneral? I seriously suggest listeing to some of his stuff. Andrea Bocelli has two ways of singing: Loud and Very Loud. Well meaning people have given me Bocelli CD's in the past, and I just smile and say "thank you" and then drop them in the dustbin. He is not on my list of good singers.

I'd say he only sings Very Soft and/or ... Very Soft. And everything in between! :p

The size of Bocelli's voice doesn't suit operatic material at all, IMHO.

I wouldn't mind it so much if he just stuck to plain ol' pop music.

But if somebody likes everything he does, I'm happy for them.

I'm happy for them, too. In the meantime, I'll go home and listen to Björling........

Andrea Bocelli is enjoyable if you think of him as a pop singer who sometimes sings opera....he's certainly easier to listen to than 90% of what passes for music on most radio...

We saw him when he came through Washington DC, and my favorite part was when he sang "My Way...." it was cheesy, but a good kind of cheesy...

Wow, he sang My way? thats kind of funny. Isnt he going to sing at the closing ceremony at the Olympics this year? Oh check this out.. its one of his new songs..
