When I first came here, it was because I had been banned from PS, for a silly joke. :p

I wanted a name that was cryptically similar to my PS name. cool

I have been, and still am interested in the history of Native Americans. cool

"little-big-man" was obvious to me. smokin

As as grey-haired engineer, my main expertise is in the analog domain (continuous physical systems) rather than the digital domain (although I use it.) Hence the contraction of "analog dinosaur"!
Also, I'm an aviation buff and ex. pilot, so my avatar is a WW2 P-47 Thunderbolt... It rivalled the P-51 Mustang but I'll concede the P-51 to be "the greatest ever" fighter plane, even over the Spitfire (but not by much!)
Cheers,
Roger

"Innominato" means "Unnamed" and is the non-name of one of the most popular character of the most famous novel ever written in Italian, Alessandro Manzoni's "I Promessi Sposi".

I cannot even try to explain to you the divine beauty of Manzoni's prosa, or of the characters he has created.

The "non-named" is one of the characters dearest to me in this very dear book, and it is obviously very apt in a forum (where you choose a nickname because you want to remain, ehem, un-named....).

Jovial is a word I like.

I like to pick arbitrary logins that are pleasant to me and then just stick with them.

I think Jovial sort of describes my public demeanor as well, which makes it a pretty ok handle for me, according to me.

I was being uncreative and totally lacked imagination the day I signed up. I'm learning piano and violin - keys and strings.

We Chinese back in Asia, are very well-known to include food seasonings into everything that we cook...be it a simple side dish...if one were to actually taste it, one can surely tell the number of teaspoon of salt (monosodium glutamate=MSG) added into it...

The culprit is a company by the name of Ajinomoto, which mass produces food seasoning and artificial flavouring in Asia...

My mom was one of those Chinese cook...though not so bad now...I was eating one of her vege side dishes, oozling with salt...when I was trying to come up with a name for my blog...

Hence...Less Ajinomoto...

Great thread! Kawai is my piano ( a play on words for the island Kauai, Hawaii). Kawai can also mean cute -like the Hello Kitty stuff, but not my intended meaning. My avatar is a picture of my 5-year old son in my cowboy hat.

I was asked to give a tutorial on public key cryptography as a lunchtime seminar at my company (that's the basis of the HTTPS protocol, among other things). As an opening graphic I included a picture of the old Ovaltine secret decoder ring which I used to demonstrate a basic symmetric cipher (I'm a big fan of the movie "A Christmas Story" in which Ovaltine plays an important role). After that talk, I still had a copy of the decoder ring picture stuck to my cubicle wall; it stayed there for a few years.

I had to create a login at some other site, and chose "Ovaltine" because that picture of the decoder ring was the first thing I saw when I rolled my eyes around looking for some creative inspiration.

I now use the name as a default whenever I need to create an online identity.

This is a fun thread...when I first registered, for my login name I chose Albee Bach. It's a cheesy pun on the Terminator tag line, the writer Edward Albee (Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?), and J.S. the composer. I quickly decided that the joke would get old, so I decided to have my screen name just be my name. But every time I log in, I still have to deal with the joke, and yes, it's still ridiculous and getting a little old.

Billy Shears is the name of the man who replaced Paul McCartney in the Beatles after he "died" in a car crash in 1966... hence the "66". I'm a huge Beatles fan... duh, but I don't believe the story, though it is fun to ponder

Why, Paul has done well, then. All those tunes since '66, and he gave Larry King a lively enough interview for a corpse a couple months ago...I hope I'm cranking out gems like "Blackbird" and "Maybe I'm Amazed" after I've gone feet-up.

Never heard the "Billy Shears" story before. Whatever floats people's boats, I guess.

Hello everyone! I'm new and just delighted to be here!
I've gone crazy trying to play some pieces by Debussy hence the screen name. I know, it's a really bad pun...
