I realise that there are security issues which make uploading our own pictures problematic. However, to see everyone's picture when reding the posts would really enhance the Piano Forum experience. How does everyone else feel about this and is there anything that we could do to help make this a reality?

Enhance? I don't know about that. I once sent my picture to the Lonely Hearts Club, and they returned it, claiming they were not THAT lonely.

I'm all in favor of custom avatars, although you'll never see my own pic as my avatar.

The stock avatars have associations with former PW members, and some of those former members aren't people any of the new members would want to emmulate!

As you can see, I don't HAVE an avatar.

I would put my picture up here, if that were possible, but I am one ugly customer. It might stop everybody from trying to actually read my posts. ;\)

I used to have my own mugshot until some of the friendly forumites said they can't stand it anymore, so now I use someone else's.

Eins,

I thought your mugshot was cool, especially the one of you kind of peeking out at us from out of frame. Bring it back.

I liked Eins's old one. The one where he looked like he was adjusting his web cam.

I first hated Eins's current new one when I thought it was a swimmer in goggles wearing a bathing cap. LOL. But when he explained it was this race car driver from way back when; I realized it was a cool avatar. I actually like his new one better than the old one now. Go figure.

As for my avatar; my German Shepherd (WMD) Mia will have nothing doing of my removing it. Besides it never hurts to have a good watch dog around to keep the cats in check.

I do like the personalized/custom avatars the best; and I do think that once an avatar has been selected by a member and used... it should be retired so that no new member can come along and unknowingly select a an avatar associated with an famous/infamous member.

Maybe this thread will spawn some new custom avatars out there for us to gaxe upon. LOL

Gotta close. Mia needs a long walk.

If I had energy and graphic skills I'd make myself a new avatar, since other people have this eclipse one. But it would NOT be a pic of my goony self.
