Barbara Carroll, in her 80's, accompanying at the piano, sings and speaks parlando style Sondheim and others on Sundays in 2009 at the Oak Room, Algonquin Hotel in Manhattan.

This review makes me want to be there....but, alas, I don't frequent Manhattan. I got a great picture of her from the article, but oh, to be in the presence, in the atmosphere.

Her music on life and love - the contemporary version is what I long to hear. It's time for me to review the Sondheim music mentioned in the review, and to do a little research.

Being of the senior citizen variety myself, I really admire musicians performing in their elder years - I celebrate their longevity and their talents and their point of views.

This Tuesday morning reading NYTimes Art section is looking good to me!

Continue on Miss Carroll!
