The Rocket Man's Red Piano Comes to Nashua
By GEORGE PELLETIER Correspondent

NASHUA – Multi-Grammy Award winner Elton John may be conquering the Coliseum at Caesars Palace on the Las Vegas strip with his style, biting wit and over-the-top showmanship, but now it's his Red Piano that is taking center stage.

The piano, signed in gold by Sir Elton himself, is making a stop at Darrell's Music Hall (75 Main St., Nashua, 886-1748), one of a select number of piano dealers across the country to display the piece to the public. The piano will be on display at the showroom through July 14.

The limited edition Elton John Signature Series Red Piano marks the first time that Yamaha has ever honored an artist by naming a piano after him.

"Elton John is such a unique artist," noted Craig Knudsen, a marketing consultant with Yamaha for 23 years. "We're very proud of this venture."

What makes this Yamaha Disklavier piano even more spectacular is that at the touch of a button, this high-tech keyboard comes alive in voice and song, with note-by-note performances, including John's vocals, on songs such as "Your Song," "Rocket Man," "Tiny Dancer," "Take Me To The Pilot" and "Candle in the Wind." (The Disclavier's state-of-the-art Smart PianoSoft technology can play nearly 1,000 audio CDs, as well.)

Darrell's has kindly provided pianos for a few of our gatherings at Larry Buck's place in Lowell.
If you decide to drop in, tell K.C., Russ, and the gang I said Hi.
Come to think of it, I may be in the area on the 14th, maybe I'll just stop in myself :-)
