I'm afraid the Fredericks tour is looking pretty iffy for me at the moment. If I come up it will have to be a day trip. Somehow I messed up on the party after the M&H tour thinking it was going to be on the weekend.

From the Frederick's concert on Sunday May 11, 2008. It was a wonderful afternoon, the acoustics in the church were great. The Arcadia Players Chamber Ensemble played Haydn, Beethoven and Weber. The Musician's... (Kivie Cahn-Lipman, cello / Lisa Rautenberg, violin / Monica Jakuc Leverett, piano / Peter W. Shea, tenor). Unfortunately we missed Christopher Krueger, flute for this picture. Saturday afternoon a few members gathered for the historical piano tour in Ashburnham. What a treat. Pat and Michael host an informative 3-hr tour of their collection along with answering any questions whether it be about composers, tuning or wood finish of a particular piano. Pat Frederick playing pianoforte from early 1800's then l-r Mike Frederick, Jim (jwgish) Pat (gntherp) Ann (Isaac's wife) and sort of blocked by piano lid, Isaac (I.Bruton) At the end of the tour everyone is invited to select a piano(s) and enjoy playing. I. Bruton and his lovely wife drove the longest distance.... Raleigh, NC! Such a pleasure to meet up with Isaac after knowing him thru PW the last few years. Three cheers for Ann who drove the distance for her partners pleasure of viewing the historic collection! If that ain't love...

While visiting the Frederick collection last Saturday, I recorded a short clip of Pat Frederick playing on the Pleyel - c 1845 Paris . Hopefully next time I’ll have something better than my digital camera for recording. With Pat's permission, the following clip is approximately 26 seconds of Chopin's Prelude in b minor. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8yjDJJQpSmQ
