It's been nearly a year and a half since the last one. Any interest out there?

plays,

We'll have to take turns bumping this one until we get some more takers. The way I see it is that we need to have at least three to call it a party.

There are quite a few people in this area, so getting others to attend shouldn't be too big a problem. Just don't decide to have one in May! (all my weekends are booked)

I'm thinking ahead to this summer. May won't work very well for me either, since I'll be in the process of moving into the metro area, and I suspect April is too soon to plan anything.

We're supposed to visit the Maryland area sometime this summer. If the visit coincides with the party date count me in. Gosh, I would be so good to finally meet some of my favorite people.

I'd vote for June 18-19 - I have a meeting in DC several times a year, and in June it is June 20. I could be persuaded to travel a day or two early for an event. Would love a chance to meet other PW folks.

Hi, Ed:

I was at the last party and would enjoy seeing you again! A Saturday or Sunday would work best for me.

Cathy Harl and Steve Cohen might also want to attend - and perhaps Bernard would make the trek down from NY again.

Please keep me informed of any plans for this get-together.

Thanks . . . Linda in PA (without her "Pa" this time \:\( )

Keep me posted. If I'm available, I'd love to go and listen to everyone else play, and I promise that no one will have to be subjected to hearing me play.

Linda,

Hope you can join us again. Steve has responded in the other thread; haven't seen anything from Cathy, yet, or Bernard.

markb,

I think we would all appreciate hearing you play, as well. Hope you can come.

Ed,

Count me in. I would enjoy meeting other forum members and hearing them play. Weekends work best for me anytime before mid-June. Ed, thanks for offering to host.

Now, Ed, you know I'll be there. Planning on swinging by this weekend if you're around. I haven't done much with Stolen Moments, but maybe you could give me a few pointers on the Copland. I just started that and my lesson is Tuesday, lol. Number 1 is harder than it looks. Lots of time changes...like every other measure...

There are three threads about this party running concurrently, one each in the Piano Forum, the Adult Beginner's Forum, and the Tours, Parties, etc. Forum. Anyone interested in the party should check all three periodically.

Lots of folks are interested and we should start narrowing down dates so people can start making plans. June is good for several reasons. It's far enough out for folks to plan especially if any travel will be involved, the weather is usually good, school is out, May is a bad month for plays88skeys...

But if its later than mid-June or so, JPM and neciebuggs won't be able to attend since they are each moving to far away places (far away from Wash. DC that is).

So I suggest either the first or second weekend in June. That means June 4/5 or 11/12.

Location TBD.

What say all?

Hey I'm in Metro DC too (MD Subarbs). Did we ever decide on a place/time? I had a hard time figuring out which thread to follow.

BTW, I have only been playing for less than a year
and haven't memorized anything much more difficult than pieces from the Anna Magdelena notebook, so I don't want to play in front of people just yet. I would still like to meet people though and have a chance to talk about experiences learning piano.

Dear Ed,

I would love to come. It'll be good to see Cathy Harl's shop -- she introduced me to the big B in 2001. I am available any weekend in June or July.

Regards,

Peter

Sorry y'all, but I have to decline this time around. The 11th is the first day of our Outer Banks vacation. I thought it started the following week...shows how focused I am on piano parties instead of the beach. \:\(

If I could interest any of you in an official PW name tag, I would be willing to print them out over the weekend. I can laminate them at work on Monday, add some attrative clips and mail them to Cathy's shop Mon/Tues in time for your gathering 6/11.

Send me a PM an I'll get started. Tag would include:

Your avatar (if you have one)
PW emblem
Your first name (last name if you so desire)
State of residence

I wish I lived closer as I would love to join all of you. Don't forget to bring a camera!!

Larry...

Thank you! \:D I've been meaning to make an appt for my piano! I believe it could use a check-up!! I'll drop you an email today.

I realized this morning why I'm having problems receiving a response from this group. I'm sure they are all putting in the extra time at the piano practicing for Saturday's event!

Any members planning to attend the gathering at Cathy Harl's piano store on Saturday, please check your pm's and email. I need a first name to place on your tags.

Actually, after a fairly good response this morning there are only a couple of stragglers!

If your name is missing and you plan to attend, please forward a PM.

I'll send them through priority mail on Wednes morning.
