Hi, Frank:

Officially, the PianoWorld Tour of Mason & Hamlin will start at 9:00am and
will end around 3:00pm.
The Tour could end earlier, depending on the amount
of Q&A involved and the pace that the Tour group moves through the factory.

The are several practical reasons for this:
1) The Forum readers don't know
that the piano builders start their work at 7:30am and go home at 3:30pm.
To start a tour in the afternoon would only give the Tour group 2-3 hours at
the most to tour the factory.

2) We normally bend rims in the morning.

3) Short two-hour tours are already available Monday through Friday every week;
we wanted to do something special for PianoWorld by offering a full-day tour
giving a more in-depth look at how we build our pianos.

Although the 9am-3pm time may be difficult for some persons who want to do the
PianoWorld Tour as a day trip, we'd like to stay with this schedule. We
feel that it offers the best experience for people who are willing to make
the time to see the factory without rushing through it.
