As promised before some more pics from another 'trip to Belgium'.

We live in the neighbourhood of the river Scheldt. This is an alluvial tidebound river which caused several severe floodings in the (not so far away) past. In order to prevent further floodings, levees have been heightened. On top of them you find tarred roads that are only open to walkers and cyclists.

Last September we took our bikes for a trip towards evening on the levees (we often do this), and luckily my wife took her camera with her.

Enjoy !

This ship (called Tsunami) is a perfect example of freight traffic on the river. Most of the time boats follow the tide in order to reduce fuel consumption. It's low tide now, this ship is heading for Antwerp.

When evening falls, lots of birds fly to a secure place. These two wild ducks are heading for some or other pond.

Haze is coming up. The soil is very wet which causes this kind of haze on muggy days. Sometimes one can only see the top of the trees 'swimming' through the fog (look below).

All pictures taken with a Nikon DS70 (lens 18-70mm), no photoshopping whatsoever.

Okay, that's it for today. More pics to come in a few days. Your comments are (as always) highly appreciated.

Greetz,

Wim
