Any Phoenix area adult beginners interested in getting together occasionally for informal recitals, support, concert outings, and camaraderie?

All piano lovers of all ages would be welcome too, of course.

I'll supply the hors d'oeuvres!

I'll supply the M&H BB grand if you want to go to northern Arizona.

I think we are going to go back to having a summer and winter ranch as it is SOO cold up here now (couple nights ago was 9 degrees BELOW zero!) but the summer temps are absolutely perfect.

Either way, I'm up for a gathering or am willing to host one at our place outside of Flagstaff.

Our new ranch will be built in either Scottsdale/Rio verde or Wickenburg.

I'd definitely drive to Flagstaff for a chance to admire and play a M&H BB!

Anybody else in the Phoenix area?

You must be a skier because you're doing it the opposite of my neighbors who winter here in the valley and summer in the Flagstaff area.

Hi Jon. I am an adult beginner transplanted from New England, and a friend of Terrytunes who started this thread. I am in the nortwest valley, where are you? Post or PM me. Maybe we can get something going down here. As you may have noticed, the New England group gets together often and has a lot of fun. I'm still very much a beginner but hosted a gathering myself when I was in MA. I have a 1923 Steinert (recently rebuilt) which is being tuned and regulated next week for the first time since it took its 2700 mile trip across the country.

You guys, any time you want to get together is fine with me.

As I've said, I have a M&H BB 7'grand here outside of flagstaff but be warned, we still have a TON of snow and more is expected in the next few days!.

Leebea:

We have been her in AZ since 1984 but I grew up in Trumbull Connecticut for 18 yrs so it seems we both have the new england connection.

Rada:

I'm sending you my phone # in a pm now.

Leebea and all others,

I live in Chandler. I'm a beginner, too. Just started private lessons today - hurrah! - after years of noodling around.

I have a Yamaha digital piano but agree with those who maintain an acoustic is essential for the serious student, so one's in my future, esp. now that I'm in a house and not an apartment.

All who are interested in this group please PM me.

Should I say there will be free beer and wine with those hors d'oeuvres? :-)

Also in Chandler, relatively new to the board and not the most prolific poster, but I would love to get together with some like-minded people.

Did anybody ever end up arranging any get togethers? I'm a definite beginner but it'd be fun to all meet up. I'm in Scottsdale and can't host but would be willing to drive to make something happen. Sounds like alot of fun!
