Sounds worthwhile for pianophiles, especially those who like Liszt.

It's actually not a bad price. But, then again, maybe next year.

This is one of the organizers. http://www.lahc.edu/music/faculty/kocyan.html I should add she is my teacher's wife, and also a superb pianist. She just completed her Ph.D in piano performance at USC.

I've always wanted to go on some kind of a musical tour like this. I believe there are multiple tour companies that offer similar packages. Some focused around specific composers, some more generic. One of these days....

Posted by Kenny......... All my European travel was 25-years ago.[/b] That's funny, so was mine(Summer of '79). I went on a one month tour of piano factories in both Western and(at the time)Eastern Europe, this in connection with the Piano Technicians Guild. Stayed in some pretty fancy joints and saw some good entertainment as well(the Czech Symphony Orchestra at the Konzerthall in Vienna, a ballet performance of Carmen's Bizet in Leipzig, and even "stumbled" upon the finals of the Piano Competition at the Royal College of Music in London). Even saw Dresden, part of which had undergone major reconstruction after the heavy allied bombing in the Second World War. The most notable travel experience in my lifetime by far. Mark Mandell

Thanks Kenny, Janet had contacted me asking if I could post the information, said I would but didn't get around to it. Here is a pdf about the tour if anyone wants to download a copy. Just right click and choose "save target as" (remember where you saved it). It's small, about 125K European Piano Tour pdf
