I've been curious as to the exact location of the M&H factory and decided to take a ride up there tonight since my husband volunteered to join me and read the map/directions.
I have a friend who lives in Haverhill but I've never really spent anytime in the downtown area. At her suggestion I took the River Rd exit off of 495; River St turns into Washington St. in the downtown section. If you miss your left turn onto Emerson St (we never saw a street sign for Emerson but like hubby says "so typical of MA"!!!) you will end up on Merrimack Street and have gone to far!
(It appears that the street before Emerson is Essex St)
Once on Emerson, I proceeded thru the 4-way stop and took my next left onto Orchard St. At the end of Orchard I noticed Duncan St. I think it was down and to my left and recall Duncan St being also marked on a bldg. After not seeing the factory the first drive down Ducan St I stopped and asked a couple of guys if they knew of the M&H factory? "What do they make" was the reply. I responded and they said they had no idea where it was. (I started to wonder if they were suppose to be moving the appliance from the bldg onto their truck and was suddenly glad the sun hadn't set.) Probably less than 400' from where I had stopped, there it was... the M&H sign. The enormous sign I had envisioned was in reality a smaller than average black colored sign with the words Mason & Hamlin barely visible (to me anyways).
There was limited street parking so I decided I would call M&H in the morning and ask for suggestions on parking.
I don't know if others will be concerned about directions but if you have read this far quite possibly you are!!
