I was reading this thread about the small Steinbuhler keyboard and found it fascinating.

http://www.pianoworld.com/ubb/ubb/ultimatebb.php?/topic/1/22437.html

I remember some incredible threads recounting piano searches, some incredible discussions on topics of interest only to pianophiles and thought perhaps that we should have a 'pinned forum' of memorable threads, available to all readers to simply read for their pleasure and information. .. a best of the best commemorative forum. I don't know if it would logistically work, but maybe it could.

We would somehow vote or nominate these threads.

Currently we have the FAQ forums that are not frequented often..

Personally, I think it might be a great way to get more exposure to our longest lasting threads: The Chopin Thread and The One Thread. \:D

Also, if selection is done by voting, well we all know how popular the ratings are.

Seriously, this needs a much better approach than the thread ratings or member ratings. Nomination process - yes. Voting process - no, at least not to the general forum populace. What is more, once a thread has been added to this list, it is very possible for it to be hijacked and no longer be one of the best threads on the forum. Would we then need to lock the threads when they have been chosen for "best of" status?

I like the idea, but it needs to be thought through in more detail.

Rich
