A while ago, a few members (adult beginners as they called themselves) came together. They went to king of the forum (Frank) and requested that a few forum be formed called 'Adult Beginners' forum. Today it boasts many happy members. They do some wonderful things like take part in online recitals, practice logs, and study groups.
I suggest that you post this request in that forum and the pianists corner and see if there are many young people who do support and learn from this forum. In the meantime you can enjoy both forums.

artsobsessed, we encourage you to come and visit our Adult Beginners Forum It's not only for adults as in old! The age range is quite wide there, and we all help each other and talk a lot about things. I myself am only 20 at the time. I think you could enjoy our forum just as we do, and participate in our recitals and piano bars, where, along discussion threads, we share our music and passion

Treat "Adult" as in "not from the very childhood" and you'll be fine :-D

And some, like my son (who is artsobsessed's age), just don't seem to get into the 'forum spirit' very often. Oh well.
Wow, apple, 14K posts.

Welcome to the forum, artsobsessed! By all means the AB forum (and the pianist corner) are the place for you. Debussy20 (Matt) is only, what, 14?, but he's already become one of our most-appreciated regulars. One of the neatest things about internet forums is that you get to know and relate to people from all demographic brackets and walks of life. We have a thread on AB forum where we invite new members to post an introduction to themselves. Check it out: "Tell us about yourself" thread

Usually forums are created because of sufficient thread volume and interest to warrant it. Honestly, I don't see too many teens here, so I'm not optimistic they'll create one. The teens I have seen, though, have incredible maturity and, if they hadn't stated, their age or described their school/parent situations, I wouldn't have been able to tell the difference.
I don't think you should feel self conscious about being younger in any of the forums here. Everybody is pretty friendly and helpful, all brought together by a common thread - the piano. Participate in some of the discussions - you'll see what I mean.
You sound pretty mature and I think you'd fit it well.
If you do want to talk to just teens about music, you could [url=http://www.teenspot.com/boards/showthread.html?t=228457go to a forum like this[/url], but you can quickly tell the conversation take on a much different tone. Not sure if that's what you were looking for, though.
