I know it can never be as good as having a trained tech tune ones piano, but how would one do a "quick and dirty" tune using a digital tuner that shows the note and how many cents it is sharp or flat? I have experimented a bit and can use the tuning lever or hammer well. I can bring a string to pitch and then get the other one or two strings to a 'no beats" tune. However, I understand that the 5th should be a bit flat and the 4th a bit sharp. If so, how many cents? And I believe I read the treble end should be a bit sharp. I'm not trying for perfection, just an acceptable level of tuning for a home piano that needs an occasional tuning. Thanks for any ideas and help. Bob

Robert,

you should ask your question in the "Tuner-Technician's Forum". This is not the right place.

Best regards,
Jens
