San Francisco Bay Area shows: The Queens of Boogie Woogie March 7 Strings - Berkeley March 9 Constable Jack's - Newcastle March 10 Larkspur Cafe Theater - Marin Co. March 11 J.J.'s Blues - San Jose Sue Palmer from San Diego, award winning boogie/swing piano player and band leader Virginia Tichenor of the legendary rag time family and star of rag time festivals Geanie Stout jazz/blues writer and performer (soundtracks, opened for Chic Corea) Wendy DeWitt - boogie and blues writer, performer and organizer of the shows. Not all strictly boogie, these shows highlight great American roots piano styles. 6th Annual and big fun. Boas are encouraged - to bring out the Queen in all of us.

Hi, tqobw. Welcome to PianoWorld. I'm surprised that if Virginia is playing JJ's that Sonny Leyland isn't somewhere nearby too... seeing as how her husband Marty often plays upright bass in his band. If you're into boogie, you should try catch one of Sonny's shows. Tell them Howard and Sue say, "Hi."
