Sandy B here and with all the talent here in these forums I am posting this on some of Piano World Forums...I am retired and I just want to share this info with other pianist...My brother and Dr. Green were both professional song writers... Both retired now... They composed for
TV commericals...some with lyrics only ...others just the music... some both. Dr. Green hired a public relations firm to promote his jingles with music, etc... He made much money at this skill working his way through college for 7 years totally... He told us he made more money in college from this skill than his dad made for a living...As teachers you know there are books you can buy to learn this skill...The key he told us was the public relations firm to promote him...

I'd like to do this. Should I write a jingle now and submit it somewhere? Where do I hire a public relations firm? Sorry if this sounds stupid. I just don't know how to get started.

Dear Nickpiano... I would call a Public Relations firm from the yellow pages... they can guide you or know some info if you keep calling different public relations firms...or put into ask jeeves , search engine...Public Relation Firms, include the area where you live...and ask jeeves what public relations firms promote TV commericals? Maybe New York or a major city? These public relation firms will know what commercials are selling... music jingles, etc..
There are books out on how to write jingles,etc. for commercials...Goggle again to find some...Sandy B...Godd luck some people make an excellent living at this...I thought on staff people did this but there is a market for the free lancer...My brother did this as Dr. Green...

You are welcome Nickpiano... I love trading ideas with other piano players... I taught as an understudy ,up to intermeidate classical...40 years ago under a lady with her Masters in Music Education while I continued my studies under her in classical piano ...My only regret at 67 years old is if I had to do it over again I would get a Phd in music and teach... I so respect teachers of music and the joy they bring to their students... Teachers always live on through their students ....Sandy B.
