I really like teaching my young students (grade 2s to 4s) with the Faber's Piano Adventures series.. the students learn... everything is reiterated... but I hate everything broken up into separate books for the grades.. i.e. lesson, techinique, performance,

I sure wish there were something comparable in one big book available. any suggestions?

most of the method books are broken into different parts, one they can sell more with a cheaper price but then you end up with more books, so I guess it's publisher's marketing trick, two, there are some benefits to the learner, which is if you are don't have much talent, or much time devoted to practice, then you probably never need a performance book....therefore having them seperately is pretty convient for the students.

Regardless, I still believe this is the best method available to teach new students, far, far better than Alfred or Bastien. You can get along quite well just taking the student through the lesson books and teaching them the technique/theory/performance stuff on your own. Keep in mind that if you teach at a music school, you can always reference the other books without having the student actually buy them!
