Hi,
I just started teaching recently.
My student has completed Alfred Basic Piano Course Level 1b and we will start on Level 2.

Are there any other recommendations on books for the same level and also recommendation if she needs to get a separate theory book for this Level?

Anyone that has taught or went through the Alfreds, what is next after Level 6?

I have very little experience with Alfreds (I've only used it once with a transfer student, and then transitioned them out to Faber's Piano Adventures as soon as I could)

Hello, welcome to the forum!

If you do a forum search on this topic, you will find several threads on it. Many teachers on this forum do not like the Alfred Basic Piano Course because it teaches hand positions so much that students become reluctant to venture outside the 5-finger position.

There are many other method books that are, in my opinion, far better than Alfred. Piano Adventures (FJH) and Hal Leonard are excellent.

Best of luck to your teaching! \:\)
