Well, after researching and saving my pennies, I finally bought a new Yamaha GC1. I really wanted the C3 but it was about double the cost. Once the GC1 arrived and I played on it a while, now I love it. The dealer has a trade-up policy so I can still get a C3 later on if I want.

Congrats on your new piano. It looks really nice in that setting. It looks as though you have done some furniture moving to prep the area. I had to do that too (I got rid of my tv.)

It's completely carpeted. It's in what you'd call the formal livingroom, as we also have a den w/tv, etc... The room is really not that big but I only use it as a music/teaching room. I also have a clavinova against another wall. I've decorated it w/music themed artwork from travels abroad: a Mozart sketch when I went to Salzburg, an etching of the Beethoven Haus when I was in Bonn Germany, a framed copy of the original score of "Silent Night" when I was in Oberndorf. I'm also collecting the 'homes of the composers' series of colored etchings by Herta Czoernig, which will eventually be framed and hang on the wall just above the shelf in the pic above. The room's not finished yet but I've got a good start.

Nice. Enjoy! Your room looks great, by the way.
