I'm looking into teaching my 6 year old daughter how to play the piano. I took lessons about 20 years ago & feel I have the knowledge to teach her, but I'm looking for some input on the best method to use for this age of child. I was taught using the Pace method, but always felt that it was for an older person. Any good tips? \:\)

for classical music:

Kjos has a series of books of Classical music from levels 1 to level 10. There is a wide range of music in each book (two books plus theory for each level). Maybe you can do 2 levels a year, or 1 if you want to take it slower. Take a look at www.kjos.com

I don't really like Bastien, Alfred, etc. as they move a little too slow for my taste and the music can get rather boring, but then the books may provide valuable technique development as well as developing concepts in theory.
