Hello, everyone.

Just a thought. Many years ago (when Prodigy was the "in" thing online), I belonged to a group of about 10 piano teachers from around the U.S..I suggested that we do a "dud swap". What this means is that one teacher sends a number of used sheets of teaching music to another teacher and they swap. These pieces can be "I'm so tired of that", "I don't like this", or whatever...but it turnmed out to be great fun and we did it several times. Everyone gets some "new music" as a result for the cost of postage.

Is there any interest in such a thing here??

Alan in Rhode Island...always stirring up some scheme or other...

Gee, I thought you'd get a lot more response out there Alan. There MUST be a lot of people that have a boat load of music that would love to swap music with other teachers. What a great way to do this. All it takes is the time to mail it and a few bucks for postage.... I thought it was good idea anyway.

I have a boat load of music and articles and materials too.....Queen Elizabeth size it seems. More than I can store.

What I'm going to do is forward mine to piano teachers in the midwest who have lost their pianos and teaching materials.

I know our chapter did that with Katrina and our MTNA magazine covered information about those affected by the ravage who lost their musical livelihood.

You do have a good idea Al, and Jerry agrees with you, I do too. But, I think our friends in turmoil would appreciate help getting their music litererate files restarted.

Hey, Jer and Betty.

Maybe I'll try again some other time. It ws lots of fun with the "old" piano teacher group.

Betty, your suggestion to share with mid-west teachers in excellent. I never stopped to think how many teachers may have lost everything...including home and pianos. You have a good heart.

I think it would be fun!

We do something similar with my local MTNA chapter.

I thought you meant by dud swap the switching of dud students. Now that would be interesting!

I imagined the exact same thing.

I should realize by now that my interpretation of a thread title is most likely way off the mark. (My favorite: "Dating a Conover Cable Console.")

I had just clicked on this thread to say the student thing, and am now LOL at Steven's comment - way to go.
