Hey guys, just wondering if you could help me out...
I want to take my Grade 5 history and harmony, but i'm afraid my books from when i did my grade 4 might be outdated... (they are about 10 years old, surely new editions have come out since then)
what are the recommended books that you study from?
thanks all!!

Hiya Ash, I found this. Looks like the 2001 edition with corrections. http://www.rcmexaminations.org/acadinfo/syllabi.htm#piano

Would the RCM be able to advise you directly? Also, the local music store hear is staffed by people who seem to intimately know every program and book. I suspect that 1. they are advanced students or musicians/teachers 2. they are required to remain fully aware. I can walk in and say I am preparing for the RCM exam, or am part of this program, and somebody will direct me to the appropriate material and also tell me the pros and cons of each. They ship. Why note contact them and ask them to give you a run-down? Leading Note store

Try the series by Barbara Mackin. She's amazing! You can even email her if you have questions.
