This custom search works much better than the built in one and allows searching older posts.

You might want to give examples of pieces this student has played. Not everyone is familiar with the Royal Conservatory grading system.

Maybe pick the next piece he's going to learn, work on analysis and other pre-practice type work, and then begin working on the difficult left hand sections while the wrist heals? Ravels piano concerto for the left hand is quite easy Of course that would be fun too
