Hi, I'm a new member so i'm sorry if this is the wrong section. How are similar motion/chromatic similar motion and double octave similar motion scales played? I'm unsure how to play them and what is ment by double octive similar motion?

Similar motion is the UK's term to describe parallel motion.
Most scales follow a pattern of a group of three fingers (1-2-3) followed by a cross over or cross under of the thumb, and then a group of four (1-2-3-4). For scales that start on black keys, we deviate from the standard starting finger, but continue to follow the basic rule of a group of three coming before a group of four (with a few exceptions).
You haven't by any chance been reading ABRSM syllabi, have you?

Perhaps the most efficient thing to do is to get yourself a scale book which will set out all the most common forms of scales, and their fingering. If it's exam requirements you're wondering about, try the scale book which is recommended by the particular exam board in question.
