Hi
Im new to Piano World and fairly new to teaching. I now teach 16 students privately and have gotten most of them through referrals. I would like to look into getting a mailing list and doing direct mail advertising for more students. Has anyone ever done anything like this? If so, any info on the subject would be much appreciated!! I look forward to hearing from you!

This can be very expensive. It is hard to do mailing lists as you are sending out to people who may or may not be interested in lessons. Rule of thumb for direct mailing is it takes a customer 3 times of seeing an ad before they respond to it. If you are able to get a mailing list that is a exclusive list of people seeking piano teachers, (if such a thing exists) then it would be money well spent. Have you checked out a website clickforlessons.com
It is set up where the students looking for teachers find you through that website. Right now it is still free to sign up.
