hi
I've been told to put this thread in here. So here it goesI'm studying in a music-academy. And they are teaching me with the YamahaCourse, with the Clavinova Club Yamaha Piano Course(arranged and edited by the Yamaha Music Foundation.
Well, I'm on the 3rd book out of 6, and i just started last year(may/05)
and i was worrying, that i may finish all that in like two years, or something like that. I wanted to know where shall I go then...if I shall go to a conservatory or shall i go on with the other Yamaha Grades(because after the six books, I can decide to go on with the Yamaha Grades)
I shall be in the 11th grade, my teacher is in the 5th.

I yet dont know what to do
thanks

PS: sorry for my bad english, im latinamerican

Do you feel your present teacher, now in the 5th book/level, will progress enough to continue to teach you? Is there someone in your area capable of carrying you further than the 6th level? You might consider the Royal Schools of Music courses from the UK which would be thorough but you might need a teacher capable of proper instruction.

As I'm not familiar with the Yamaha courses, perhaps someone with knowledge of this series can provide you with good advice. There's a multiplicity of courses available--most are good--to choose from so you're not necessarily stuck with the Yamaha courses.

nono you dont understand

its from up to down
the best "yamahapeople" are those who have grade 2
my teacher is in grade 5
im in grade 11

first we have 6 books
each book equal a level
im in the 3rd book = level 11
when we are in level 8 = book 6 finished
we can continue practising some piano concerts, and by making testst to yamaha corp we are going to better levels
my teacher is in level 5

Oh--sorry--I didn't understand. So grade 1 would be the last level and grade 12 would be the beginning level? You're in level 11 and your teacher in level 5 so your instructor is at least five levels above you, i.e., more advanced and have four levels to completion. I see.

Well, since you're in a Latin American country you might have a fine conservatory there or in another close country. We don't hear much about Central and South American conservatories here but I'm sure Sao Paola, Caracas, Mexico City, etc., have some excellent conservatories. Good luck in any case! smile

I apologize for my misunderstanding of your post.
