Hi there,
I hope that some of you teachers can help me figure this out: I was once taught a very easy piece for children, actually a four-hands piece, where the kid would have to roll his right fist on the black keys, and play some notes with the left hand. It was easy and fun. I'd love to teach this to a friend's daughter, but I hadn't written it out and I've lost contact with that teacher, and I don't even remember the name of the piece...
Can you help me find it?

I don't know that one, but I remember hearing a Prokofiev sonata that calls for the pianist to smack the keys hard with the left fist at a particularly dramatic moment. :p

The one that comes to mind (that I played as a kid with my younger sister) has the simple RH roll-the-fist part for one student and a more complicated 2-handed duet part in the bass clef for the other. Here is the simple part:

F# G# A# (roll these), then play C# C#
F# G# A# (roll these), then play C# C#
F# G# A# (roll) C# D# C# A#

A# G# F# (roll the other way), then D# D#
A# G# F# D# D#
C# D D# F F# F# F#


Hopefully this makes sense to someone and I'm not totally off the wall.

OK, here are the LH bass notes for the duet part:

F# lowerC# F# lowerC# D
D# lowerG# D# lowerG#
C# higherF C# higherF
C# D D# F F# F# F#

As I'm writing this out I'm realizing that the notes should probably be written as flats, not sharps. The RH chords for the duet would be F#major (G-flat), G#major (A-flat), and C# (D-flat).
