I'm finding it difficult finding well written sing-along music and Broadway music that is "easier" to play.

I've been taking music lessons for almost 7 years and just want to have some fun playing things that my father (he was an accompianist) played without the singers line (most have three lines).

John Brimhall is the best I've found so far. Most "easier music" to be honest is awful, sometimes the melody is ok but the base makes no sense. There must be a middle road where the music is close to the original. Most recently, I borrowed Amy Appleby's America's All-Time Favorites from the library and it left a lot to be desired.

The same s true of Broadway and Classicle music. Maybe what I'm looking for doesn't exist. One good thing is that I now appreciate what a good accompianist does.

Thanks for any suggestions. \:\)

You might try asking this on the Pianists' Forum. While some teachers might have a suggestion or two, this is not the usual material we use for teaching purposes.

My favorite site to purchase easy to play music is: Sheet Music Plus. You can choose the level of music you are shopping for. They ship promptly, and you can track your order. The best part.... when one of my orders did not show up, they sent out a new shipment, no waiting or himhawing.

You can own a Chickering, Christifori, or Steinway, but if you can't play it.... It is just a piece of eye candy.
