I got a new mic in today, a Shure SM57 to add to the studio collection and so I decided to try it out just now with a little recording of the piano.

Recording layout:
Shure SM57 mic - Yamaha MG 10/2 mixer - M-audio 2496 sound card in an upgraded Acer Aspire Desktop PC.

The audio link:
"Piano line"

Nothing great, Just something I came up with a few days ago and I'm planning on playing it for my piano class for some extra credit.

Also this was a rough recording today...my dad was talking in the background at first and I'm not playing my best at this hour.

Nice playing, 85Dave. It's very soothing and relaxing. I like it.

Very nice! Your dad's voice added an interesting ambience, as if you were playing in a club or at an event.

^ Ha I never would have thought to try that.

I do have to get out to a show some time and record some clapping so I can add it to some of my future songs.

I heard some good things there,
Your LH is even and controlled. Your 3 against 2 timings are well played. You sound comfortable and confident in this style.

I would be interested in different harmonic ideas. I would also like to hear some contrasting textures, and more momentum towards new material. You have something good here, Why not expand on it?

Continue on your journey, and keep us posted.
