First off... I'm wondering if this particular forum is half dead.... it's nowhere near as active as the main Piano forum or Pianists Corner - Non-Classical, but since it IS a "Member Recording" I put it in here.

http://www.box.net/shared/0f5xq69at3

Hope you enjoy them more than you did (in another thread) my sorry excuses for attempts at classical songs. \:D I should admit that these are the types of songs I have the most experience playing, and therefore are most comfortable playing.

The obligatory pic of the recording setup:

That Zoom H2 is actually standing vertical at that same spot, not leaning against the music desk. Also, that music book pictured wasn't the one I was playing out of.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get it sounding better for a minimal outlay of cash? Should I start saving up for a better quality piano that I can then buy for and install new hammers, strings, other action felts, in? (I don't care about resale value, but I also would like the pinblock/soundboard/etc to be in decent shape. I'd also, if I get a different piano instead of putting up with this scrap of death, like to get an equal size or larger vertical.)

Or, is it just a question of regulating & voicing what's left of my piano, and/or better microphone placement?

88K PP, Very good. I was a church pianist for 25 yrs, so I am familiar with all of these songs. You do a good job of improv with them. Thanks for sharing

Good job! I like your clean style.
I have been a church pianist for about 30 years.
Its' encouraging to know there are others that play a traditional style.
Keep it up!
(Have you ever tried chord substitutions in your hymnplaying? Adding 7th chords will give a richer, warmer sound.)
