Hi everyone! I'm a MASSIVE fan of Alkan's music and I recently recorded his Concerto for Solo Piano and Allegro Barbaro, you can hear some clips and download the full 2nd and 3rd movement at my websites Myspace and My main website Please listen and comment! My main instrument is guitar, so you might enjoy some of the other clips on there too! Thanks for listening! Mark

Very impressive, Mark! Thank you for sharing. Wish I could hear your whole performance of No 8. You taught yourself to play piano from the beginning? How many Etudes out of Op 39 have you completed?

Hi-I taught myself from the beginning, I think I learn quicker that way:) The concerto is the only work from Op 39 I've finished, although I have worked on a couple of the others. I don't have a very big repertoire though, Liszt Transcendental Etudes 1,2 and 5, some Alkan, and working on some Kapustin at the moment! I really appreciate you taking the time to listen!

Maybe your main instrument should be the piano. This is phenomenal playing.
