Bruce-san i believe this is the first recording i hear from you .. it is very good
I have some comments on how i will play this piece myself (i played it once i assume) - of course you know that comments on interpretation are a matter of personal opinion ..
Your volume changes are fine throughout the piece but there need minor tweaks ..
Notice the piece's climax is at 1:20-1:24 (ending at the low octave)
But you mistreated this climax .. and rachmaninoff (one of my fav. pianists if not the top favorite) says that if you did not play a climax as it should then the piece will not be convincing .. or sth like that
You played it like this .. you were having a nice time then suddenly you remember that you are in the climax so you very rapidly increase the volume
(exactly at 1:21) .. this sounds very deliberate and voluntary - (mainly due to the first part of the piece which was very tame .. maybe ???)
i suggest that you build this tension along the whole piece from the start (SORRY or from the new phrase starting at 1:05) with one way or another then at the climax you may increase the volume (yes even suddenly) - but you have to build for it before it comes
how can you do that? maybe through gradual increase in volume throughout the piece, slight tempo fluctuations (don't be that metronomic in the first half of the piece)
just what i feel .. don't take it seriously
Nice tone by the way
