I would greatly appreciate comments on my interpretation of Prokofiev sonata no 5. I studied it from the sheet music only, I never heard it performed, and I never studied anything by Prokofiev with a teacher. So this is an unspoilt impression of the written music! It would be insteresting to find out mistakes or deviations from tradition. Though doing this was great fun - exploring both the music and myself - I am not sure I would recommend it as a general method. In any case I welcome comments also from those who never heard the piece before.

1. Allegro Tranquillo

2. Andantino

3. Un poco allegretto

Wow, what a great recording! To tell you the truth it sounds very much like other recordings I've heard of the piece, which is very much a compliment. \:D This piece is way too underplayed and deserves to be heard more; thanks for posting this.

Just so you know, the file downloads are a bit wonky, they'll donwload like half of the file and say it's complete; I had to re-d/l them a couple times before I got the full length files.

I only listened to the first movement so far, but it is wonderful! I've never heard this sonata before, so I can't judge it compared to other recordings, but otherwise, the piece sounds extremely coherent and musical, with very good control.
