Would like some feedback on this one as I am preparing it for the CD Project here on Piano World.

It's about approximately 10 seconds slower overall from professional performances that I have heard.

I think I know where some trouble areas are but would like to hear input from the group here as well.

Very nice, markjpcs! I haven't heard so many versions of this one, but I know that it's usually played quite a bit faster. There was nothing wrong with this tempo though, it's still interresting listening to.

Well done! I haven't played any of the preludes, but now as you posted this one I felt it would be fun to learn it too

This is definitely a very fun piece.

I like the distinction of notes a slightly slower tempo provides. I think I need to smooth a couple of areas out and it will be ready for the project. Good thing too because I also committed to doing another Chopin Prelude (see my other preliminary posting here), his Waltz in A minor, and the 2nd movement, Adagio Cantabile from Beethoven's Opus 13 Grande Sonate Pathétique.

Hi and thanks for a nice interpretation.
I have some points that in my view would improve your version.

- The melody in the slow passage feels a bit awkward. Listen to Argerich or another professional pianists and you will notice a difference.

- Uneven tempo in the slow passages. As an example, bar 3 is much faster executed than bar 4. This is connected to the first issue.

- Speed. The starting speed of the descending fast passages is good but you tend to slow down for each of them. Try to get them more consistant.

These ideas are no major issues but I think that the suggested improvements would lift your interpretation to a professional level and they are, according to that you seem to have the technique to play, rather easy to implement.

I have recorded a new version. I think I got the tempo smoothed out pretty good.

I use two Shure SM57 mics plugged into a Digidesign MBox http://www.digidesign.com/products/mbox/ that is then attached to my iBook G4 using Digidesign ProTools LE Software.

ProTools? The one that costs like, what, $10 000???

Pro Tools LE[/b] is bundled with the MBox.

The combo costs like $400.

The big brother Pro Tools is the same program but has more "Pro" features that I would probably never use.
