Not bad at all, but there were a few wrong notes (check your music sheet).

Also, it lacked convinction, but I'm guessing you probably hadn't played it often before this video. You need more rubato as well, IMHO.

I like the right-hand legato in the beginning. Very fluid even though the sound cut out in the middle of it. You could tell that you got that nailed, though! \:\)

This is just my own personal beef with this piece : almost everybody makes the beginning chords sound very long & robotic. Since you mentioned "The Pianist" in your comments, I'd suggest listening to that version for an example of the beginning chords sounding alive!

Props for getting through this piece. You have quite a list of performed works on YouTube. It'll take me quite some time to build such a playlist.

Very cool! \:\)

According to my edition (Erdstein, International Music Co.)there are no wrong notes. This is definetely a diff.edition than is often heard. I think it is the same or very close to the movie edition. Thanks for your input. This Nocturne is not found in most Nocturne collection books.

If you want, PM me your e-mail address and I'll send you my score which has the "proper" notes that are found in the "The Pianist" version.

Frankly, some of those notes sound totally off.

Also, it's quite possible that there are some mistakes in the sheet music. I know I've had my share of mistakes I had to correct. Very easy for publishers to miss a # here or a b there...

Strat - there are a few versions of this Nocturne out there. And I believe they are all from Chopin himself but at different time. What musica71 played is similar to the Cortot edition.

In old schools of Chopin interpretation, tempo is quite strict. Rubato is almost like when a singer taking the time to breathe at the end of a phrase. If you find an opportunity to hear Dang Thai Son in your home town, please go and listen.

THANK YOU Liszt Addict! This is the edition I bought several years ago , and this is the edition i learned. I explained to Strat that I was not playing wrong notes. All of the editions as you say are probably credible.
