Hello, I`ve never really played any baroque music before so I learned this. Do you think it`s musical and articulated properly? Opinions welcome :-) http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=a1dc16d54fb7496fd2db6fb9a8902bda

Sorry, Fraggle, for the late response, but I have just come back from vacations. I am working on some of the 2-part inventions, too. I think, these pieces are both great music and etudes for developping technique.
This particular invention has got a canon-like structure which comes clearly out in your rendition. The opening motif from measure 1 is kept alive in several sections. In my personal opinion, the phrasing for this motif should then be similar (e.g. in measure 3), hence underlining this imitation.
One can clearly hear that you played it with joy. So, are you learning some other inventions?

I think I agree with you about the phrasing and similar advice is given in the book I have too. I`ll probably tweak it a bit when I go back to it.
I am now learning no.10 which is my current favourite but it`s a bit trickier so I`ve not got it together yet.
It`s certainly very satisfying to have both hands playing so independently when it works. I can see why this type of music is so highly recommended for technique and I`m getting right into it :-)
