LisztAddict :

This is an extremely fine performance, with wonderful attention to detail. I particularly admire how cleanly you play the chromatic section beginning at measure 38 right through measure 53; this is bravura playing of exception calibre.

I have two small quibbles, and in no way do they take away from how impressed I am by your performance. In the poco più animato section you seem momentarily to lose the two to a bar feel; it becomes four to a bar. In the same section, why do you dramatically increase the tempo of measures 32-33 and 36-37?

I don't know whether I am inspired by your performance to take up this Etude again, or whether I am discouraged by how well you play it!

Indeed, an impressive performance. Thank you!

Regards,

Thank you for listening, BruceD.

At the start of the poco più animato, 2nd beat on measure 21, 23, 25, 27, I stretch the tempo a bit but I use no pedal when there is only the right hand part. I think I'll put the pedal back to keep the group of 4 clearer.

Yes, I accelerate a little in measures 32-33, then even a little more in 36-37. To me, it sounds somewhat dragging if I hold the same tempo as in measure 30-31, 34-35.

I picked up this piece again last November after I saw an amazing performnace by the 19-year-old Adam Golka.

Very confident playing for something that is so much more challenging than it appears.

Parts of it seemed a little too rushed for me, but I'm used to hearing it and playing it with less contrast between sections.

Great recording, and I like it better than the version I recorded a few months ago.

whoa. i don't understand any of what you just said. it's all greek to me. i can play "roll out the barrel" pretty well. but i don't know anything about measures or pedals or being precise. i play freely. you sound very talented. GOOD JOB !!!

I can't get enough of this recording. That's a really incredible piece. Those harmonies in the chromatic section are so interesting to listen to.

Hearing this makes me want to try it out for myself.. a very dangerous thing since it's far out of my league. Someday though..

Thanks for posting this. It's inspirational.

For Liszt Addict,
What can i say? except offer you my heartfelt thanks for you brilliant performance of the Chopin etude #10 op3
Thankyou.
Incidentally You are probably much too young to remember the movie this piece was in as (What else?) a love song
This very old English lady remembers most of the words
So Deep Is the night
no moon tonight
On broken wings
my heart has taken flight
Alone am I
Silent lest my love
Should be returning
From a World out of sight and so on.

Again thankyou sincerely for yout beautiful playing.
Blessings
margot

You should tone down those tones from time to time, more gentle playing will add elegance to your performance. Other then this a fine performance.
