Hello everyone!!!!!!!

I`m a new member of Piano World and just started to post videos one youtube. I also have a myspace Internet page (also new)!!

This is my first youtube video with a portuguese windband (Sociedade Musical Gouveense) and the maestro Helder Abreu. The concerto is the Richard Addinsell "Warsaw Concerto" (the hard version in this case) that i had the pleasure to record recently. The video doesn't start in the beginning of the concerto. The CD is on sale too (of course is a much better version than this live performance... but i guess that is normal).

So here are the links and be free to comment. I hope i can comment all your videos and recordings soon...

Warsaw Concerto - André Vaz Pereira (youtube)

(it has some Fugitive visions of Prokofiev and the beginning of the recording i did of the Warsaw Concerto)

If you really liked it, you can buy the CD in this link:

Thanks for reading all this message!!!!!!!!!

Enjoy!!

Very nice work! Isn't it interesting that Addinsell composes one really good melody and attains immortality.

Well, in fact i didn`t know him util i had to prepare the recording, but in my family, that aren`t musicians, they all knew this concerto. Even my Teacher told me that his brother was a huge fan of this concerto!! I only realised it when i had to play it! And how dificult it is. Took me some weeks just to decide to realy go for it!

It's good to have in your repertoire. Over in the U.S. we have pops concerts and the Warsaw Concerto is programmed now and then, along with Rhapsody in Blue. There is always a demand for pianists who can perform either of these favorites.

Well, i`ve studied the Gershwin concerto in F but it`s dificult to get a concert band version, and to play with orquestra, is a very expensive piece (only big orquestras do it without getting extra musicians). Now i`ve been reading the rapshody in blue, but it will take time... and it is not easier than the concerto (i know what i`m talking about...).
