Georges Catoire, in Russian Georgy Katuar, (1861-1926) was a late romantic Russian composer. I hope you enjoy listening to this prelude. Link: http://www.pianostreet.com/smf/index.php/topic,32148.0.html

beautiful piece david, i just wish it was a bit longer. I might have to have a look ,at catoire's other pieces
as always wonderful playing!

Hi Zac,
Thanks for the compliment. The preludes tend to be short by their nature. But he does have other genres of pieces for piano such as a few etudes, numerous morceaux, the beautiful Chants du crepuscule, and other miscellaneous works, many of which are considerably longer than the preludes. Also, you'll find that Catoire has a very individual idiom and sound. I just wish his music was easier to play! This afternoon I started another prelude. So I'm definitely having fun with it! Thanks for listening.
David
