Mike and Bruce, thank you so much. This is going to be labeled a "possible encore" if (when) I try to give my first solo recital. It's so elegant and pretty underplayed.

Well done, that was splendid; dynamics, phrasing, expression, tempo... all right on the money IMO

When another member posted his recording of this some months ago, I searched out the sheet music and learned it; it is indeed a marvellous little miniature. Try to listen to the Barenboim recording if you get a chance too.

Thanks, I quickly learned that just playing the notes was not enough when I had a master class with a piano proffesor at a local college. I got killed on stage by her and it really made me focus on what kind of sound I wanted to produce.

That was excellent man! I was looking for a good example for my son Simon who will start learning this piece soon (our account on youtube is 'vrankov'). I did not like any of the professional performances there. They were playing too firm and soulless. Then I "downgraded" my search to the amateurs and ... voila. This was the best performance of the piece considering everything I found on the web. I wish the sound was recorded by a better equipment.
