that's gorgeous.
i think i'd like to learn that one and have looked at the books available from Sheet Music Plus.
Do you have a suggestion as to what to buy.

Hi apple*,
I knew you'd like that barcarolle. It is very beautiful. At first, I didn't know quite what to expect out this piece, but the more I practiced it, the more I liked it.
If you can send me a private message, I'll be glad to assist you on your question.
Thanks for listening!

hey david, sorry its taken me so long to reply firstly can i say thankyou for the quality and quantity of bortkiewicz pieces you have played and posted, it gives me great pleasure to listen to any new recordings! such a beautiful piece and beautifully played, it wasn't how i was expecting it to sound after just playing chopins barcarolle but was pleasently supprised. Zac

Hi Zac,
Glad you enjoyed it! Yes, it's very different from any other barcarolles I've played or heard. So beautiful though, isn't it?
I notice you're working on Bortkiewicz's "Ballade". For some reason I haven't been able to warm up to that piece, so don't have it on my to-do list. I'm thinking that I'll do another prelude from Op. 40, then perhaps the second Lamentation. Sometime I also want to do the Etude Op. 15, No. 8.
Do you record your pieces as you complete work on them? I'd love to hear your Chopin "Barcarolle". That's great too that you're doing Liapunoff. My favorite in that set is No. 5, "Nuit d'ete", but it's very difficult to play, I'm told.
Thanks for your nice compliment on my playing!
David

at the moment i can't really record anything as i am still using a dodgy digital piano with no midi out, i've tried using a video camera but doesn't work to any great extent. I'll keep the barcarolle polished for you until i get a new piano
