its an interesting piece david, i feel that it could use some pedel (or if there is some, ambye some more) just so that the melody can sing, it is a very nicr piece and i thank you for sharing it! are you going to be studying the op.63 preludes that still exist?
You should join in on the concert etude recital in the pianist corner with a bortkiewicz etude!
Zac

Hi Zac,
Where the tempo is andantino and the melody moves along accordingly creating passing and neighboring tones, I wanted to be a bit careful with the pedal to avoid blurring.
Yes, I do have the two existing Op. 65 preludes in the queue along with the early six from Op. 13. But I want to try first to get through the three remaining in Op. 33 and the four remaining in Op. 40. It would be nice if I could record them all if doable. So the etudes will have to wait for awhile. Also I have some Catoire scores begging for attention too. This stuff sure keeps me busy enough!
I much prefer Bortkiewicz's more difficult, ultra-romantic music to this little prelude. I do believe that intermediate pianists might find this prelude to be a great introduction to Bortkiewicz, as it has some useful teaching points too.
Thanks for listening, Zac!

Hi apple*,
I bet you'd learn the piece in an hour! The reason I played it is below.
I'm now preparing Op. 33, No. 5, another one-pager, not too challenging really, but I want to see if I can record the complete set in Op. 33 (and possibly Op. 40 too). In the past, doing complete sets never interested me at all. My practice has always been to select those pieces that most appeal to me and then move on to something else. But the more of these preludes I've recorded and posted, more people have asked me to consider doing them all. Not sure if it will be workable, but I might give it the college try. At least I haven't ruled it out yet.
This one was a trifle really, so I appreciate your taking the time to listen to it. Thanks!

Hi Zac,
Yes, more to come, and it's mostly music I've not heard before, like the other pieces I've recorded from Op. 40. It should be interesting and fun.
And thanks for the heads-up on the recital.
David
