Hi guys. I know this is going to sound incredibly corny. I play other instruments, but am a beginner at piano. Well, not a brand, brand new player, I know enough to bang my way through an "easy" piano piece. I've been sitting and tinkering my way through some beautiful pieces of music the last few days, such as "A Whole New World" (Disney), "Christmas Time is Here" (Charlie Brown), "My Heart Will Go On" (from the Titanic), etc. As well as various christmas carols and such.

Even though I am not a good player at all, I get emotional that "I" could hit a few of those beautiful chords and it is "me" who is making that gorgeous sound, albeit slow or whatever. They are simple pieces, yes, but sometimes I just feel overcome with awe and thankfulness to have been blessed with musical ability. We should appreciate it. There are so many that do not have the ability, or have never been given the chance to find out.

Yes, I think we are all thankful of whatever meager talents the God(s) have bestowed upon us!

I totally, totally, totally agree. Just last night I was playing through some Bach chorales and got misty-eyed thinking about how wonderful it is that I can sight-read these beautiful works of music. And I'm not usually the mushy, misty-eyed type (OK, so maybe I am). :-)
