Hello everybody!
Im planning to return to practice my lessons and relearn how to play the piano properly. I would like to review some topics that are important such as: scales, technique, speeding exercises (as studies), playing by ear, some chords and intervals. My question is if someone knows what kind of method, software or guide book that I could study in order to go back in track and be able to play again in the same level that I used to (intermediate). Also, Im wondering if buying piano lesson software is a good idea (I reviewed some software reports but I think that is only for begginers); I dont really know where to start. I think that relearning some basic and intermediate topics will help me to advance and dont feel frustration because I cannot play like in the past.

Go to a music store and browse the different method books. Check the different levels for to see what would be best for you. As far as I know, once you are "Intermediate," you are done with method books (except for maybe Thompson or Schuamm).

For scales, pick up a scale series, as simple as that. Hanon's is a classic, but Alfred's Basic Musicianship or something similar will do.
II. As in, second best.
Only lowercase. So not even that.

Welcome to the forum, Brida! \:\)

I think you will end up being pleasantly surprised at how quickly things come back to you. It will be a much shorter learning curve this time around.

The Alfred series gets high ratings here; I've also heard good things about the Faber.

Welcome to the forum!

If you don't want to take lessons full-time, see if you can find a good qualified piano teacher who will "jump-start" you.

I am a teacher, and from time to time folks with similar situations to yours will come for one or a few lessons, or for sporadic lessons, to make sure they are on track, and to have some feedback. This is important with the piano, because you could be doing many things right, but doing something incorrect that you do not notice, which would cause unforseen problems.

Thank you for your suggestions. I'll buy some books and I'll consider to take some classes when it possible.
Merry Christmas!! \:\)
