I'm struggling to memorize some easy pieces, and I've searched the forums for advice. One approach is "analytic." Since I'm pretty analytical, I would like to pursue this. I think I can recognize different sections of a piece and repeated rhythms and such, but I would like to see a thoroughly analyzed example to check my thinking.

Can you recommend an online worked example? Something simple, a few pages say.

Hey, bbear - here's a link to the latest one in the pianists corner, and there's links inside it to a couple of other things -

this one has some pretty exhaustive analysis, but it'll give you an idea.

Hm. Let me see if I can find Kreisler's threads from a long while back, on Mozart, I think -

Ah, here's what I was thinking of - more basic than the above, but still fascinating.

Beethoven Bagatelle:

Schumann Chorale (easiest):

Have fun!

OH! and then there's always jazzwee's thread here in the ABF on Autumn Leaves!

if you want to know more about jazz, this is a great place to start.
