I took what seemed like 1000's of hours worth of lessons as a child but now as an adult want to finally learn how to play.
Over the last weekend, I bought a new piano (for my son mostly, but it has inspired me to learn!) and now I want to finally apply fingers to keys & play some music.
Short story long...what is the best way to go about this? My plan is to buy a couple of beginning books & dust off the cob webs from the decades of neglect of not playing...
Thanks in advance for the suggestions

Ton Def - get a teacher.. I took lots of lessons as a kid, gave it up for 20 years and started again.. I'm not much of a book learner, but a dedicated and inspiring teacher, whom you want to have made progress for every week, will totally jump start you in all the right directions.

I'm in a similar boat. I've got some books but I need the interaction with a teacher. I start studying with a talented jazz teacher tonight.
