Could you list what you would consider

Would you classified the Moonlight Sonata an Intermediate or Advanced piece?

Unfortunately, if you ask 5 people their opinion on levels or difficulty, they will give you 10 answers.

This spreadsheet isn't very discriminating when you get to level 8. Even though it goes to level 10 (and I have no idea what U is), it seems that some of the levels are pretty broad. For example, both Moonlight and Waldstein are level 8.

1st mvt Late intermediate, 2nd late intermediate/early advanced, 3rd Advanced

For Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata, 1st Movement I would consider mid-intermediate, 2nd Movement late-intermediate and 3rd Movement as superduper-advanced (that's the scientific term anyways).

But as DragonPianoPlayer has already said, everyone will have varying opinions on the difficulty of a piece and they can be labeled rather broadly. But just from listening to recordings / browsing through the sheets those are my opinions on the relative difficulty of the pieces, granted I haven't actually played any of the movements yet. Speaking of them though, this thread is making me want to print up the first movement and give it a shot... :p

See what I mean. We've only had three postings and already have seven different levels.

I agree with AnotherSchmoe on that. 1st movement is really difficult to classify. It depends how we understand difficulty in the first place. The notes are pretty much straightforward, but voicing, accentation, phrasing, playing legato, pedalling and other feats of the piece move it further and further away from being easy, depending on the particular pianist and what he/she considers a difficult thing to achieve.
