I will kill the bunnies; or maybe I will feed them to the green blob. Us dudes just can not sit at the piano all day.

GreenBlobthing: Sorry, can never remember how to spell psycho.... :p

As far as I know, I am the only one of the chicks (chicks please let me know if I'm wrong) who can sit at the piano all day.

I don't, however. Three to five hours is my limit, and I average about 3.4 hours a day.

Not that it seems to help my progress any.

All the other chicks (as far as I can tell) are working...just like you dudes. Or going to school and studying and working part-time. And, in some cases, (i.e. Monica and Maryanna...and I'm sure many others) are working and have a family with children to raise, a house to clean, meals to cook, laundry to do, husband to keep happy, etc.

So...blob (sorry, again \:\( ). I am the only one to "blame," if that is the correct word.

And, I know there are a few dudes out there who are retired also and who can sit at the piano all day.

So...let's call it "even-steven" time-wise. \:\)

Psychopianoman -

I've got 3 kids, a full time job and a DH with an unpredictable schedule (a physician). Can't do the long stints that some of those with fewer obligations can pull off.

It's amazing though how a log and a little competition gets your fingers on the keys for just a bit more every day

I love the green blob!

Nope, Kathleen, you are not the only one. I could sit at the piano all day long, but then the house and laundry and all that lovely stuff would go to heck and that would not make for much happiness around here.... LOL So I get my couple hours in most days. And, like you, it often seems that it hasn't helped progress...

Hey, don't you chicks get all emotional. I was just trying to ruffle a few bunny tails. \:D It is hard to express my messed up sarcasm through the cpu. Most people that know me can only tell how serious I am by being around me.

I only pop off stuff like that when I am missing the keys and wishing I could spend more time playing. School has started back up and working a full time job has thrown me out of whack. I am at a point of adjusting to not being able to play like I want to. I never find it hard to spend hours at the keys so I miss it greatly.

I think everyone that hits 50 hours a month at the piano ought to submit music to the piano bar though. That is the least you fanatics could do for the rest of us.

No fair!!! I want a dust bunny audience. I have carpet. I guess I could go and get some bugs from outside and set them up on the piano.

Yeah... I get that a lot, too. Or else they come over and start rubbing my legs, telling me that if I don't stop and feed them right this instant, that they are going to snack on my toes and claw my eyes out.

When I took the time to add up the hours I've spent doing housework, from the time I was 10, I was floored!!

If I played the piano for just a fraction of those hours, I might just be on the concert stage (that is, if I had the talent :p ).

Now, that I am retired, I didn't want to fall into the trap of spending my free time cleaning house until it is spotless for company that never comes and for a husband who never notices.

So, I set the timer for one hour. Each day, around 9 a.m., the clock starts ticking. When it stops, I stop. PERIOD. \:D

It has been quite comical at times. Half-made beds, just a few items unloaded from the dishwasher, just one section of a window cleaned, most of the towels still needing folding.

But it has set me free.

Indeed, you have!

But I always make time to dust the piano itself... \:D

Hmm, I have two that will sit or lie on top of the piano while I am playing. Must be tone deaf.... \:D

This is Amber:

Awwwww....What a sweetie! Honestly, when I'm playing, my cats lounge-out on the couches. It relaxes them. (Unless they're hungry) LOL
