Your interest and support are so appreciated. We have our fingers crossed.

Gratefully,

Thanks Kathleen. \:\)

Might I suggest that you try to get some of your other Chopin thread-buddies to go over to the New Feature Requests forum and add their comments to the end of the thread (the one I moved) Here's the link:

http://www.pianoworld.com/ubb/ubb/ultimatebb.php?/topic/23/104.html

That might bring Frank's attention to it if he hasn't seen it yet, and let him see how many people are interested. If you're really interested in starting a campaign, you might go over to the pianist corner and make a thread inviting people to the New Feature Requests thread and asking them to chime if they are interested.

Kathleen, dont mean to put my nose in here, but just in case Frank doesnt want to start another forum for just chopin lovers, here is a thought, if you have your own website you can get free forums added to it here http://www.aceboard.net/

if you dont have your own website you can still start up your own forum for chopin lovers here http://www.myfastforum.org/

these are just in case Frank doesnt want to start up another board, as then others will want an elton board, a beethoven board etc etc. this is just a thought to branch out a bit with the chopin lovers. hope this helps and hope i didnt stick my nose in where it doesnt belong, i just think it would be a good idea to look into:)

i think thats a great idea Funburger! fastforums looks really neat. Maybe a permanent sticky thread titled "composer forums" could then be made which contains in the first post URL's to a members forum dedicated to their favorite composer. That way, any member can create a forum for any composer without placing Frank in the awkward position of allowing one composer forum as opposed to anothers, or alternatively opening pandora's box!

Again, you are so very gracious, ShiroKuro. Thank you for those great suggestions. I will pop over to the Devoted Thread right down (or maybe I'll just do a cut and paste) with you ideas.

Funbuger: \:\) Please don't EVER think you are sticking your wonderful nose where it doesn't belong! Your nose can go where ever it wants to...as long as it doesn't leave your face!! Your idea about creating a forum on my own web site are would be great if I knew more about doing such a thing...and, of course, if I had my own website (which I think I do but I can't remember how to bring it up!). Your other idea sounds a little complicated, but...if worse comes to worse, I just might try it. Thank you and your nose. \:D

Stephenc: AHA..THERE YOU ARE! ;\) I have been trying to "get" you to confirm your prelude piece. Are you still planning on playing...pretty please let me know. You are just one of 3 who have not yet confirmed, so please! O.K.

Your idea sounds pretty much (or almost) like the one I had considered if we don't "permission." Thank you.

Kathleen

Hmmm...

if Frank is willing to make a separate forum as part of PW for something like this, obviously that would be the best option. Being part of PW is like having an automatic traffic director sending people to your threads.

But let's say he didn't want to do that (and I can think of many understandable reasons why he might not) then I don't think it would be very good manners to ask for a sticky or something to send PW viewers to a different site for the purpose of viewing those composer-related threads.

I'm not trying to criticize anyone here or say your ideas are not good. But it's one thing to ask for a new feature, it's another thing to ask to be allowed to advertise for a separate site that will take people away from this one.

People have the ability to put links in their signature, but beyond that I don't think it's appropriate to advertise for a forum which would be essentially a competing site.

However, I think we are all jumping the gun here. Let's wait and see what Franks views are on adding a forum.
